Change Report
The Change Report tab (
At the top of the page, you'll see a graph breaking down the number of changes that occurred on each day. In the left sidebar, the Change Summary pie chart displays the number of changes within the report. Below this pie chart are several options you can use to generate custom reports.
Report Options
By default, the Change Report tab displays data from the past day for all nodes in your environment. However, you have several options to customize the data in your report.
These options include:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Time Span | A window of time for which you want to view change data. You can choose a preconfigured option like Past Weekor Past 3 Months, or choose your own custom window. |
Filter By | The systems for which you want to view change data. You can choose to view data for all nodes, a node group, an environment, or a specific node. |
Change Type | The action for which you want to view change data. You can choose to view all changes or view only additions, removals, or modifications. |
Category | The Configuration Item (CI) type you want to view. Select a value from the drop-down list to filter the content by CI. For example, 'Clusters'. |
Once a report is generated, you can filter and sort the data to find exactly what you're looking for.
Group and Filter a Report
When viewing a report, you have a few options on how to organize the data.
First, you can change how the data in your report is grouped. By default, data in a report will Group By Node. This means that each line of your report represents a single node, and clicking that line reveals the changes for that node. However, you can choose what works best for you from the following grouping options:
Option | Description |
---|---|
No Grouping | Lists each change individually in the order of occurrence, most recent to oldest. |
Group By Node | Groups changes by their respective node. Click a node in the report to view its changes. |
Group By Day | Groups changes by the day on which they occurred. Click on a day to view the changes that happened on that day. |
Group By Month | Groups changes by the month during which they occurred. Click on a month to view the changes that happened on that day. |
Second, depending on how you have grouped your report, you'll see the option to search for a specific node or for a specific change. For example, with a report set to Group By Day, you can click on a given day and then search for a change type. Or, with a report set to Group By Node, you can search the report for a specific node.
Export a Report
There may be a time when you want to share a report with someone who's not a Guardian user. To export a report, click Export at the top right of the page. Then, select PDF or CSV from the drop-down list to select a file format. You'll find your report wherever your device stores downloads.
Schedule a Report
Rather than visiting the Change Report tab every time you want to view change data, Guardian also lets you schedule change reports to be delivered directly to your email. You can configure a scheduled report to include any data you'd like, as well as set the recipients who should receive a copy of the report.
To schedule a change report:

Under Options, select a Time Span for the report.
-
From the Filter By drop-down, select whether you want the report include all nodes, a node group, an environment, or a specific node.
-
From the Change Type drop-down, select whether you want the report to include all changes, additions, removals, or modifications.
-
From the Category drop-down, select whether you want the report to include changes across all categories or only changes from a specific category.
-
Click Schedule.
-
The Schedule a change report dialog box is displayed. Enter a Report Title.
-
Enter the email address for each person you want to receive the report in the Report Recipients field. You can add multiple email addresses here, separating each with a comma.

-
From the Interval drop-down, select how often you want a new report to run. If selecting '24 hours', also select a Time and Timezone. If selecting '7 days', also select a Day, Time, and Timezone.
-
Click Save.
Now, your new report will run at the designated interval, and everyone you've entered as a recipient will receive a copy via email.
